UPPERTALE is a fan-made sequel to the indie RPG UNDERTALE which takes place directly after the "True Pacifist" ending of the original game. Players will once again take control of the original protagonist Frisk as they're swept up in a zany time-travel plot to revisit the past.

Released in 2016, this fan-game aimed to provide a glimpse of what could possibly happen in a sequel to UNDERTALE. It featured a new surface world to explore, the return of familiar locations in new contexts, reunions with fan-favorite characters, and three different endings. Players can explore the overworld and also find random enemy encounters in certain locations, where UNDERTALE's signature morality system comes into play. Players can choose to resolve conflicts peacefully, or they can use violence to earn experience points.

This game was developed and released in a short few months when I was 14 years old, right after I had finished playing UNDERTALE for the first time, which is why it largely reuses assets from the original game. While it isn't a particularly polished game, it was still a valuable learning experience for me as a game developer. There were let's plays made of the game on YouTube (such as this one by YuB with over 2.4 million views) which helped me to grow an online community, and I'm sincerely appreciative of that. I would later go on to make DONTFORGET, and ultimately decide to become a game developer, as a direct result of this game.

You can download UPPERTALE here from its GameJolt page.
